Trace’s place in Macon was really, truly fantastic. TONS of room to spread out, a very creative and industrial (and yet cozy?) vibe, and thoughtful attention to detail. Having a washer and dryer was an added plus (after a week out on the road), and I can’t say enough good things about that bed! The place was a true respite, not even 5 mins driving from the heart of downtown, maybe 8 mins from Mercer (if that), and around 10-12 mins to Ocmulgee National Monument. I’m especially grateful for Trace’s flexibility. When I got some unexpected news and cut my stay to Macon short, he was deeply thoughtful and flexible in accommodating my situation. It was an excellent reminder that, while hosts can spend lots of time and lots of money creating a gorgeous space as Trace’s, what can’t be bought – and can hardly be taught – are empathy, flexibility, communicativeness, and more than anything, kindness. Trace nailed it on all fronts. On my next trip into Macon, I can’t imagine staying anywhere other than Trace’s place, if he’ll have me. Thank you for everything! – Jonathan
