By causing the body to burn fat, the ketogenic diet reduces inflammation and the individual’s risk of diabetes. “Our findings highlight the interplay between metabolism and the immune system, and how it coordinates maintenance of healthy tissue function,” said Emily Goldberg, a postdoctoral fellow in comparative medicine and study contributor.
